ISA PT Guidelines for Candidates

Dear ISA Participant,

We have great pleasure in welcoming you to the course on Information System Audit – your gateway to the exciting field of IS Audit Assurance services. Please do refer to the FAQ’s hosted on the ISA Portal to find information on the most frequently asked questions. An attempt has been made to provide a summary of the course activities for your ready reference and use in the following sections:

1.      ISA Portal: All communications from the ISA Administration are through the ISA Portal at www.isaicai.org and the e-mail id issued to you at the portal. The E-mail Id issued to you on the ISA Portal is the primary mail id for sending all communications related to ISA course. Kindly access the Online ISA Information Services regularly to get updated information about the course activities, updated information on high topics and information about forthcoming Conferences/ Seminars/ Workshops. The alternate email Id provided by you would be used to send alert messages from time to time.  Please do update your profile on the ISA Portal whenever there is a change.

2.      Course Materials/ Kit: The Course Kit consisting of (a) ISA Course Background Materials (2 volumes & One CAAT Resources CD – pasted inside) and (b) the book on Information Systems and Audit Control by Ron Weber would be issued at the ISA PT Centre when you join the ISA PT course.

3.      ISA COM Twin Services – ROSM/ OLPT: The ROSM/ OLPT facility provides sample test papers for you to attempt and assess your understanding/ competence level and also provide a practical insight in this field. You would receive an ACCESS KEY by e-mail on the ID allotted to you in your ISA Course Registration letter.  You need to go to the ISA COM site by clicking on the link called “Sample Papers” on the ISA Portal and register for either one (ROSM/ OLPT) or both these facilities for 6 months by clicking on the link titled “Register Here”.  After you register, you get a login name and password that you have to access this facility henceforth.  The Online Practice Test (OLPT) gives you sample questions and scoring to access your understanding level.  The Researched Online study Material (ROSM) facility provides you one page full of information on the topic to enable you to better understand the subject matter.

4.      ISA Prospectus: ISA Prospectus is issued to members registering for the ISA Course by paying Rs.10,150/- (Rs.150/- for the prospectus).

5.      ISA Mail ID For accessing ISA Information Services, please login to the ISA Portal at www.isaicai.org with the user Id and password given to you in the ISA Registration Letter. The password assigned to you in the ISA Registration letter is provisional to facilitate your first access to the ISA Information Services; You are advised to change your password at the earliest to maintain confidentiality. Once you the change this password it will be updated into the database and thereafter you must use the updated password given by you. Please maintain secrecy about your user Id and password as the information provided using this user-id and password is treated as submitted by you and authentic.

6.      ISA Professional Training (PT):

a)      Scheduling of PT Classes: PT Batches are generally scheduled on Sat/ Sun on Full Day basis (9.30-5.30) for six weeks. In smaller cities and towns, classes are often organized for 4-days/ week or continuous 12 days to enable members from nearby areas to also join and benefit.

b)      Venue: The Venue for ISA PT Batches is generally the Regional/ Branch Office of the Institute.

c)      PT Batches: ISA PT batches are started from time to time on formation of break-even batches. When the course registration approaches 30 in a City, the office announces a PT Batch in coordination with the concerned Branch/ Regional Office.

d)      Forthcoming PT Batches: Details of forthcoming confirmed and tentative batches is hosted on the ISA Portal from time to time. The Branch Chairman / ISA Coordinators facilitate coordination and smooth conduct of the PT Course. Participants are hence requested to contact the regional/ branch office for enrolling in forthcoming batches. In many cases ISA PT Batches are organized at the request of the Branch Chairmen considering the demand from members in the area.

e)      Attendance Requirement: Minimum attendance of 90% is mandatory and candidates have to attend minimum 10 days of classes to successfully complete their ISA Professional Training and become eligible to take the ISA ET..

f)        Faculty/ Course Feedback: Participants are requested to provide feedback about the faculties at the ISA Portal at www.isaicai.org.

g)      Course Kit & Tea/ Refreshment Arrangements: The ISA POU arranges to provide the course consist of two background materials, Ron Weber Book, Writing Pad and pen on the first day of the PT Batch. They would also arrange to provide Forenoon and Afternoon Tea (with shacks/ biscuits) and working lunch.

h)      Details of Forthcoming ISA PT Batches: Are hosted on the ISA Portal at www.isaicai.org The exact URL is www.isaicai.org/ptcourses. In fact, the course schedule giving the modules coverage is hosted on the website for information of all concerned, from time to time. The detailed Course Schedule is sent to the Chairman / ISA Coordinators of all concerned Branches / Cities and they arrange to provide a copy thereof to candidates to enable them to come prepared.

7.      ISA Eligibility Test: After completing ISA PT with 90% attendance, you have to appear in the ISA ET held on the months of Feb/ May/ Aug/ Nov generally on second Saturday. You have to fill up the Online ISA ET form from 15-30 of the previous month after giving your username and password on the ISA Portal.

8.      ISA Assessment Test: ISA AT is generally organized on 3rd/ 4th Week of Mar/ Jun/ Sep/ Dec for which a Rs.25/- form issued by the Examination Division has to be filled along with AT Fees or Rs.1,000/- by 3/4 weeks before the AT. Participants are advised to check for announcement issued by the Examination Department of ICAI at the official website of the Institute at www.icai.org in this regard six/eight weeks before the expected date of AT

9.      Information about ISA Activities: Information about forthcoming ISA Activities – Forthcoming PT Batches, ET Announcement, ET Registration (Form A/ B/ C/ D), ET Results, Refresher Course, Other Useful Info about the ISA Course is hosted at the ISA Portal at www.isaicai.org periodically.  Kindly do access this site periodically.

10.  ISA Portal Help Desk Facility: A HELP DESK facility is available at the ISA Portal to enable you to register your requests for prompt follow-up at our end. When you register a request, a confirmatory mail is sent to your mailbox. In case you do not receive feedback within two working days, you can forward this mail to secyitc@icai.org as the second level support. Kindly select appropriate Subject line (i) Profile Update (ii) PT Info (iii) ET Info (iv) Ron Weber book (v) www.themanagementor.com (ROSM/ OLPT) Services (vi) ISA Study Materia1. Kindly choose the correct option from the Options presented as drop-down menu available once you click "Complaints / Feedback" on the home - page.
